Glomus Tumor

Abstract

|
|
Glomus tumor is a benign neoplasm arising from the body of glomus, which is disseminated, usually located in the reticular layer of the dermis, forming with the specialized arteriovenous anastomosis.
The majority of glomus tumors are found in the upper extremity, especially in the nail bed or the tip of digits.
The scarcity of reports due to rare incidence of this lesion and the lack of familiarity, with it, many tumors are wrongly diagnosed or overlooked.
We have had a case of glomus tumor occuring in the nail bed of hand and obtained a good results. So we present this case report with a review of the literatures.
